Eatali Soi 5 now serves shakshuka for breakfast — eggs baked in a savoury tomato and bell pepper sauce, with fresh bread on the side, ฿240, from 09:00 to 13:00 daily on Pratamnak Soi 5, Pattaya. It's the chef's pick on the new breakfast menu, and the first dish we've added that isn't Italian or Thai.
What shakshuka is
Shakshuka is a North African and Middle Eastern breakfast: eggs cracked into a simmering pan of tomato, bell pepper, garlic and spice, cooked until the whites set and the yolks stay soft. You eat it straight from the pan with bread. It's warm, a little spicy, and filling without being heavy — which is why it's become a breakfast standard from Tel Aviv to London.
How we make ours
Our kitchen already makes tomato sauce every morning for the pizza and pasta, so shakshuka was a natural fit. The base is that same slow-cooked tomato, with sweet bell pepper and garlic added, then a touch of red pepper for warmth. Two eggs go in, the pan goes under the heat, and it comes out with the yolks still runny. Fresh bread from our own oven comes alongside — the same bread we bake daily for the Special Bread menu.

What to order with it
A cappuccino or flat white is the obvious pairing. If you're two, add a Breakfast Set 129 for the table and split both. If you're in later than 13:00, the Italian menu runs all day and Thai dishes start at 14:00.
